I really enjoy the first person when it’s done properly, but a lot of people seem so way of it.
But nothing does impersonal like the third person does impersonal. Contrast ‘I was scared’ with ‘she was scared’. The first is perfectly serviceable. The latter will have me pulling my damn hair out.
Hell, ‘you were scared’ works better. And nobody outside the Homestuck fandom regularly uses the second person.
